| Also called "bolt rope" or "mushroom bead", keder is used in the tent and fabric structure industries and in the truckside sign frame and billboard industries. It is an ideal system to attach fabric to a frame. | |

Single Flange 8mm (Green Core) Keder used as a standard edge and attaching mechanism for banners and signs. |

| Keder welded to back of banner. This is a 25mm (approximately one inch) overlap between the banner fabric and the PVC surface of the keder. | ||||
| Two important considerations affect the choice of keder in the sign and banner industry: First, the structural loads to be placed on the fabric edges when installed; and second, the type of welding equipment available to the finishing shop. | ||||

| Keder shown in extruded aluminum track. Many variations of track are available. Exit angles for keder (slot to back plate) can be 90 or 45 degrees or parallel to back plate to accommodate different mounting situations. |

Please
take into consideration the following variables when considering keder for
your sign or banner:
It is difficult to weld double flange keder with a hot air welder. Thus the single flange variety, shown above, is best for smaller shops that do not use high frequency welders. Because, in theory, a double flange weld is structurally superior to a single flange weld (which is why they use double flange in tents and fabric structures) it may be advisable to use double flange on certain outdoor signs or banners that will be affected by strong winds. |
